CRUISE IN THE CALANQUES OF MARSEILLE

Welcome to the Calanques of Marseille !

This theme day proposed by our agency, Plaisirs & Maisons de Provence, will take you to  the Mediterranean coast, Marseille and Cassis, to discover our beautiful Calanques.

You will be charmed by this wonderful, calm and relaxing view.

PROGRAM OF THE CALANQUES OF MARSEILLE DAY

Around noon you will enjoy a traditional Marseille dish  made with local products in a local gourmet restaurant.

Then around 2:00 p.m. you will depart on a boat toward the Marseille Calanques for a cruise of approximately 3 hours to discover 12 Calanques and other magnificent places.

Callelongue: Fishing port which became a high point of Marseille gastronomy, it is the end of the "road at the end of the world".

Marseilleveyre: The mountain range of Marseilleveyre reveals the naked rock, you will see the Calanque de la Mounine and its green oak forest, then the Calanque of Marseilleveyre.

The Riou archipelago: You can observe small Calanques inaccessible on foot alongside the coast as well as four islands inhabited by many sea birds and reptiles.

Sormiou : In this large Calanque you will be astounded by the magnificence of the coast. Today it is a little village of conserved "cabanons" , restored by the owners without running water or electricity.

La Cosquer Grotto: At a depth of approximately 37 meters, this cave discovered in 1985 by Henri Cosquer contains 27,000 year old paintings.

Morgiou-Sugiton and the fallen rocks: A true paradise accessible only by boat or by a marked path. Its magnificent waters go from emerald to turquoise.

The glass eye: The glass eye is a large brown spot which hides the entrance of a cave.

Devanson and "Aiguilles de l’essadon" : Magnificent Calanques

L’oule : Impressive rock cathedrals

En-vau : Probably the most beautiful of all, it is one of the most difficult to get to on a hike.

Port-pin : Calanque covered by Aleppo pines

Port-miou : Today a leisure port, it is the deepest of all the Calanques. It gave Cassis its best days with the commerce of wine and olive oil.
