3 expositions by Frederique Duran in 3 exceptional sites, from La Roque d’Antheon to Lourmarin and Gordes...

Discover the richness of a historical work and heritage during a promenade from South to North of the Luberon to the abbey of Silvacane, to the Castle of Lourmarin and to the Museum of the history of Glass and Stained Glass

The Museum of the history of Glass and Stained Glass and the Moulin des Bouillons in Gordes… two museums, a  showcase of an extraordinary work.

At the foot of one of the most beautiful villages of France, in Gordes, on a Gallo-Roman site, Frederique Duran has created two museums, the Moulin des Bouillons and the Museum of the History of Glass and Stained Glass, created respectively in 1962 and 1975. A large part of her work is shown there now.
The Moulin des Bouillons is classified a historic monument; it is one of the oldest olive oil mills of the Mediterranean basin. It has been kept intact, with all its constituent elements, including a monumental press: a whole oak 10 meters long and weighing 7 tons.
On the other side of the park, half buried, the Museum of the History of Glass and Stained Glass conjures up 7 thousand years of history of glass thanks to an exceptional collection of art objects, utilitarian and scientific. The whole glass adventure is traced, from the evolution of stained glass in the middle ages to today, the utilization of glass over the centuries, from the times of the pharaohs to the scientific research of NASA.
A walk in the museum and in the park will allow you to admire exceptional religious and civilian stained glass, sculpted mobiles and colorful structures...

An exposition until November in the Castle of Lourmarin...

Sculptures, slabs of engraved glass, inks, engravings on copper... are shown simultaneously in several rooms of this beautiful castle and invite visitors to a circuit punctuated with pieces that are harmoniously integrated to these stones walls heavy with history.

The abbey of Silvacane, another historical jewel for the works of Frederique Duran.

From March 19 to May 22, monumental sculptures in Duralinox as well as inks, engraved glass and stained glass in glass tiles with fabulous colors will be exposed in the dining hall and the dormitory of the Abbey...

Did you know?

Many works by the artist are installed in chapels and churches throughout the Département of Vaucluse and also in public buildings: schools, Department Council and even some traffic circles...
