Your horse ride in the Alpilles, in the heart of nature
Take a 16-kilometre horse ride through the wilderness.
With your riding companion, you’ll discover this unspoilt wilderness!
The flora and fauna of the Alpilles are very present in this protected area.
The Alpilles is home to many species of animal, which can be seen throughout the walk.
Aureilloise flora is essentially Mediterranean. Nearly 800 species of plant can be found here.
The olive tree is a dominant feature of the Aureillois landscape. As you stroll along, you’ll admire the landscape shaped by small hackberry and kermes oak trees, and at the bottom of the valley, protected plant species such as the summer snowflower and the helianthemum.
3 hours horse riding in the Alpilles massif
You’ll discover the Alpilles and its exceptional colours, with their mixture of limestone rocks and reflections of the sun’s rays. The Civadières massif and its red bars right next to the Tour de Opies, the highest point in the Alpilles massif at 498m.
The Tour de Opies lies to the north-east of the Plaine de la Crau and offers lovely views of Mont Ventoux, the Petit Luberon and, of course, the entire Alpilles massif.
On this nature ride, you’ll wander through the many olive groves in the area.
This horse ride will take you as far as the Château d’Aureille, a vestige of the 12th century.
You will arrive near the centre of the village of Aureille. You can stroll through the narrow streets of this unspoilt village, and then head back to your holiday rental in Aureille or one of the other pretty holiday rentals in the Alpilles.
Due to certain sections, this horse trek is not recommended for people who suffer from vertigo. Trousers (jeans/trousers) and trainers are recommended.

Minimum age: 7 years
Frequency: This horse ride can be enjoyed every Sunday except during school holidays. During the school holidays, the ride can take place every day.
