This is a loop hike, starting from the village of Vauvenargues.
The guide will be delighted to show you around this exceptional natural area.
You’ll be able to observe the different ecosystems and biodiversity on the ubac of Sainte-Victoire, from the foothills to the crests.
PROGRAMME FOR THIS WALK
YOU WILL START THE WALK BY DISCOVERING A CASTLE.
It stands on a knoll to the south of the village of Vauvenargues. It was bought by Picasso in 1958 and he was buried there in 1973.
THEN YOU BEGIN YOUR ASCENT
For a good half-hour, the vegetation is dense undergrowth.
To reach LES CRÊTES,
A magnificent 360° panorama awaits you! Your efforts will be rewarded.
The view plunges down to the Cengle plateau and the village of Saint-Antonin,
FINALLY, YOU’LL FINISH THE WALK WITH THE DESCENT OF THE VENTURIERS.
The descent begins in the direction of Le Prieuré, and after a few hairpin bends, continues along the wide Chemin des Venturiers.
You’ll have a magnificent view of the valley, the Lac du Bimont and, in the distance, the Luberon, the Ventoux and the Montagne de Lure.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION FOR THE WALK AROUND MONTAGNE SAINTE VICTOIRE
A travel diary will be given to you to show you the meeting places and times.
This is a medium-difficulty route with a few short steep and/or stony sections, covering a distance of 14km and lasting 6 hours.
Participants : Minimum 6 – Maximum 15 – Minimum age: 8 years.
You will need to be well shod and well supplied with water.
Please bring a picnic lunch.
We can prepare a packed lunch with an organic picnic at an additional cost.
The route can be adapted according to the length of the walk and your level of fitness.
