ANSOUIS: A SMALL MEDIEVAL VILLAGE IN THE HEART OF THE SOUTHERN LUBERON
In the south of the Parc Naturel du Luberon, just a few kilometres from the village of Lourmarin, lies the small hilltop village of Ansouis.
Ansouis is a medieval village dating back to the Middle Ages. It occupies a dominant position in the region.
It was originally built on a rocky spur to control the roads between Aix-en-Provence and Apt, thanks in particular to its magnificent medieval castle, an ancient fortress that still overlooks the village today.
