We propose a circular hike starting from "The Contadour" to discover four sheep barns built according to three different models, in the jas of the Terres du Roux, classified as a historic monument.

The theme of this circuit is: the different architectural models of dry-stone sheep barns of the mountain of Lure.
The Hike:
You will start the hike by visiting the jas of Bouscarle, a beautiful sheep barn with a cupola, comprised of five pieces, each covered by a dome with corbel resting on diaphragm arches.
Then you will see an old beech of grand stature, several centuries old, on your route.
You will then reach the summit of the Antipape at 1431 m in altitude, a summit covered by a cairn offering a vast 360° panorama.
You will also pass by a sheep barn in arc, then by a 20 m long sheep barn in tunnel.
Finally, you will visit the jas of the Terres du Roux, which is a beautiful pastoral complex comprised of a domed sheep barn, the shepherd shack, and a cistern considered the crown jewel of dry stones on the mountain of Lure. This exceptional sheep barn was restored and has been classified as a Historic Monument since 1993.
Practical Information:
A travel notebook will be given to you to indicate where and when to meet. This is a generally easy walk with some short steep and/or rocky passages.
