Located between the towns of Carpentras and Isle sur la Sorgue, at the foot of the Mont Ventoux, Pernes les Fontaines, is a charming village where you can linger and discover a beautiful heritage, including 40 very well preserved fountains giving a unique atmosphere to the village.
The village of Pernes les Fontaines also has many historical monuments. You will discover among others, several fortified gates from the old ramparts which used to surround the city as well as the Tour Ferrande with its beautiful medieval frescoes from the 13th century or the Tour de l’Horloge from the 11th century, a beautiful 11th century church and the Eglise Notre Dame de Nazareth.
There are many sports activities nearby. Public pool and tennis at approximately 1 km, a horseback riding center at 4 kms and an 18 hole golf course at approximately 10 kms. The golf course is in a splendid area at the foot of the Mounts of Vaucluse between Isle sur la Sorgue and Fontaine de Vaucluse. The Sorgue river is not very far. You can kayak there.
The location of the house will allow a cyclist to climb Mont Ventoux from the rental.
The vineyards are also not very far from the rental. It is possible to go in the domains in order to sample WINES AOC Cote du Ventoux
The closest big towns are Avignon 20 kms, Carpentras (8 kms) and Isle sur la Sorgue 10 kms.
