Swimming and Water Activities at Bonde Pond

Bonde Pond is open for swimming all year round and is supervised in summer from July 1st to August 31st. It should be noted that depending on the intensity of rainfall and the flow of the Eze, the river that flows into the pond, during the winter period, the pond’s water level varies from season to season. Indeed, it is not uncommon for the water level to be very low in summer or for the beaches to be completely submerged due to heavy rainfall.

Regarding on-site activities, Bonde Pond is not to be outdone and offers an unparalleled leisure base in the region, which otherwise has few swimming spots. In addition to the natural swimming area offered by this body of water, it’s possible to rent boats to relax on the water, and also to go tubing, an ideal activity to do with friends! Even if it’s not possible to rent equipment on site, you can always bring your paddleboard and use it on the water, as the pond is calm, even in summer. For fishing enthusiasts, a large part of the pond is set up to provide a quiet spot where you can fish for carp of all sizes! (Note, however, that you must have a fishing license if you wish to engage in this activity!)

For nature lovers, you can walk around Bonde Pond by taking an easy trail designed for families. This trail also allows you to explore the surroundings of the pond and reach equipped beaches. Finally, if you’re motivated, you can also go hiking, as the region is ideal for this activity; for example, you can start from the pond and head towards the village of Cabrières d’Aigues to discover it.

Finally, know that it’s possible to picnic around the pond, and also to eat on site thanks to 3 available restaurants: firstly, the snack bar and refreshment stand, right next to the campsite, will serve you grilled dishes, salads, and pizzas; if you prefer to have a coffee or more traditional cuisine, head to the Café du lac to enjoy a calm and typical Luberon setting; finally, the restaurant La Dolce Villa invites visitors to enjoy a convivial moment around a varied menu with friends, catering to all tastes!

Dogs: Allowed or not at the Pond?

While humans can enjoy this enchanting pond, dogs are also allowed to enjoy it, as long as their owners take all necessary measures not to disturb people swimming nearby!
